Winter Writers, Let’s dive into the world of Spell Writing & Incantations
Incantations are our relationship with words. Words delivered with clear and concise intention amplify the strength of their meaning. Spell work is the intersection of Prayer and belief. It is where our desire meets our intention and the intention is spoken with the sacred sound of our voice.
Before we get into spells, lets dispell some myths where it relates to alignment and manifestation.
Because at its’ core, a neuromystic’s relationship to her spells lives in her alignment with Mother Earth.
First, we must be deeply and somatically connected to Earth.
What does that mean?
It doesn’t necessarily mean to place our toes in dirt while our feet are wiggle in mud, but you can always go outside an physically connect to soil. There is profound power in sensing Earth through the bottoms of our feet. But think for a minute about people who use extreme “grounding” techniques. They may cut off the bottoms of their shoes and walk barefoot through a market or remove their flip flops in an airport while waiting for a flight. Is this actually grounding? No. Not necessarily.
Being grounded is a metaphysical marker of anchoring one- self to this ‘reality’. It is an external reminder that we are Earth’s children, that we emerge from her, and we are a loving embodied expression of her existence. This memory, this reality, this understanding is a physical necessity for spellwork. It means, ‘my ideas, beliefs, and needs are grounded into THIS reality’.
It means; I connect with the land. Moreover, I connect to the ideas, beliefs, and systems that strengthen my relationship to Mother Earth.
As we march ever forward into a world hell- bent on living in delusion, we must secure our relationship with Earth and her effort to communicate with us in an authentic way.
Here are some affirmations you can use when you’re feeling disenchanted with a world gone mad:
I connect with the Mother in Her miraculous glory.
I co- create with Earth Mother and ONLY with Mother.
I speak from the richness of Earths womb space, and build trust with Her.
I share my intentions with her. She wants what is best for me, just as I want what is best for her.
When it comes to alignment, our somatic sensory system must directly reflect our vision. Meaning; our the thoughts or mind element of intention agree. It means, my nervous system is free of stress and these ideas can co- exist in my body. There is no ‘conflict’. Now, that doesn’t mean conflict does not exist. But, this is at the very least, a good srarting point. When we focus on our symbiosis between me and Mother [Earth], we feel at peace with out world. Despite the fact the world may not be at peace.
Ultimately, the goal is to solidify our steadfast relationship with the Spirit of Earth. There is a recognition that no outside sources are attempting to interfere with the outcome of this spell and what we put forth is pure.
For example, if we are doing spell work for abundance, and my boss doesn’t want to give me a raise, there is conflict. Despite the fact we can not impede on the boss’s free will, we can trust there is an Earthly way to move our intentions forward with this goal.
Also, in spell work, there is a commitment to doing no harm. (At least in how I address this work.) So, if the belief is: My boss is a jerk because she won’t give me a raise, that is completely fair and honest thought. But wishing harm on the boss SO ‘I can get a raise’ breaks the alignment in which the energy of the spell requires in order to move the idea/ prayer/ intention into reality.
You see, spell work and communication skills go hand in hand.
Meaning, if I wish harm upon my boss internally, I may do something like share this thought with a co- worker or friend. The likelihood this will get back to my boss increases because it exists. This does NOT mean you can not vent about your situation! However we can learn to speak in nuance which may look something like this, “I feel frustrated with my boss AND I understand there may be reasons that I can not see or know for her actions.”
But, if you choose to use words to cause harm, “My bosss is an ass- hole. I’m never going to get a raise because she sucks and I hate her!” it will continue to influence our internal world in ways we might not completely understand.
Remember, you are human. You are entitled to your feelings and yes your boss just might be an ass hole!
AND …. you boss is a person, living her own separate life. You can be compassionate toward her and minimize your attention toward her by de- personalizing them from your experience.
So what does all this have to do with spellwork:
Once we are aware of how our thoughts connect to our words and our intentions, we can begin slowly to cultivate a relationship to communicate our spells outward. The more we cultivate this awareness, the more it strengthens our intention work.
If I think it, I feel it, I see it, and I speak it to Mother Earth it is the belief that this energy will be received through her and move out into the world. I am allowed to have doubts. Hesitancy is not the issue. Strength in belief is not the issue. A “negative internal monologue” is not the issue. The ‘only thing’ holding us back is our disbelief in our own inner magic and our connection to Mother Earth of whom we are capable of co- creating with.
To be clear it is essential we remain grounded in our expectations, and communication.
If we do spell work to receive – for example – 1 million dollars, we have to understand our role in bringing that to life. So a better way to approach the spell would look like this – “It is with dedication to my craft, I aim to receive one million dollars in the next year.”
Most manifestation techniques do not take into consideration real world barriers. Remember spell work is ONLY intended for what you can co- create WITH Mother. *ANY EFFORT TO UNDERMINE ANOTHER PERSON WILL BRING IN FORCES THAT ARE NOT NATURAL TO OUR DIVINITY* This is why we must be keenly aware of how our spells are worded and what our intentions are when we cast them.
