Compass Rose
The compass Rose is the second position in the wheel. This could also could be considered the sun sign in astrology of the reading. (You do not need to know the sun sign to complete a reading!) This is the essence of the client or character. It is the way they shine their light to the world. We can learn a lot about an individual through their compass rose. This is a safe place to remember the spectrum of humanity in a person. Through the compass rose card we can help (re)orient this person into the power of their shine.
If you are utilizing an oracle deck to work your way around the oracle’s wheel, here is an example of the first two cards in the reading:
Step 1. draw the first card (bone dial)

I am using Kim Krans ‘Wild Unknown Oracle Deck’ for this demonstration. The card above is the ‘Sparks of light’ Card on the bone dial position. This is the first card in the first position. It denotes what is hidden or what can not be seen by others.
Next, we pull the compass rose card which lays directly over top the bone dial card.
We see the Compass Rose card lands directly on top of the bone dial. In this example, the card is the ‘calcification’ card. This card is a conversation about how the character or individual navigates the world around them. (refer to audio lesson for a more detailed description of the compass rose card position).

Using the two cards above, write up or audio record a reading. What does the compass rose card tell you about this individual? How does that interact or play off of the bone dial card? What qualities and attributes emerge from the compass rose? What battles have ensued over the presence of the compass rose in this persons life? Feel free to be as descriptive as possible!
